Xiaomi is launching a new variant of this Mi Max 2 in India shortly, aiming to please mid-range buyers. Following launching the Mi Max two with 4GB + 64GB configuration at Rs. 16,999 in July, the business will now be coming out with a 4GB + 32GB option that is priced at Rs. 12,999. The new variant will go on sale starting September 20 at 12pm on Amazon India, Mi.com and Mi Home, the company confirms.
To recall, the dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Xiaomi Mi Max two runs MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It sports a 6.44-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC combined with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. In the camera department, the Mi Max 2 includes a 12-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor (with 1.25-micron pixels), PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and dual-LED flash. On the front, it sports a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture and real-time beautification options.
While the Mi Max 2 has been initially launched with 64GB of inbuilt storage, the Chinese phone manufacturer will be launching a 32GB variant that will collapse beneath the sub-Rs.15,000 category. Both the variants arrive with expandability option via microSD card (up to 128GB). In terms connectivity, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 supports 4G VoLTE, as well as dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared sensor, fingerprint sensor, and proximity detector.
The smartphone packs a 5300mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The Mi Max 2 steps 174.1×88.7×7.6mm and weighs 211 g.
